Inside Kōrudo the Snow Fox

The Snow Fox is a shy creature, their black and white spotted coat helps them blend into the snowy mountainous peaks. Their thick fur consists of two coats, the topcoat has longer more spread out hairs, and the undercoat which is much thicker and softer providing them with adequate warmth in the colder climate. When they are frightened, snow foxes tend to try and avoid confrontation by camouflaging themselves against the terrain, only resorting to violence when threatened. Snow Foxes have tremendous bite strength, far greater than many fox species, this is due to the frozen foods they eat. Some specific packs of foxes have a unique trait of ice fishing, they use their bite strength to bite a hole in the ice and fish from the hole.

Snow foxes are found in the coldest parts of Cry India, mainly in the White Tribal Lands

It's been a while since I created a new fox doll, so it was the perfect time to bring one to life. I wanted to create a fox that was similar to a snow leopard and resided in a colder climate. I had the perfect fur to use and it is just that little bit different from a snow leopards coat, as this fur is quite short and difficult to work with, I wanted to pair it with longer fur, so I chose a light grey with black tips which complimented the spotted fur.

I also tried something a little different with the tail and curled it around just like a shiba inu, and I really love the way it turned out!

Kōrudo has a resin face and paws that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. Her body is made from thick faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, she has a wire armature inside making her fully poseable, her face was furred by hand and painted in acrylic paints.

Kōrudo is approximately 30 x 18cm head to tail.

Kōrudo will be up for grabs in my Etsy shop this Friday between 8-9am AEST. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
