Ancient Sun Stags are highly worshipped creatures, they are the symbol of the Sun Village and are said to bring health and happiness. Their image has been seen in ancient tablets dating from 500 years in the past.
Although there is only one known Sun Stag, it is protected by the residence of the Sun Village. It's thought that Solis is over 200 years old and no one knows how long they can live for. located in the Yellow Tribal Lands, Maho in Cry India.
Solis was the demo head I used to make my glass eye casting tutorial, I knew I wanted to do another stag with pupiless eyes much like my ancient ice stag. This time I wanted something a little brighter, so I went with the sun. These eyes are actually handmade by me and was the first time I tried this technique, I was pretty happy with the way they came out. The fur I used was the very last of that fur I had in stock, every time I looked at it, it reminded me of the sun so I thought what better to use it. I also wanted to add a little burst of colour to the face, so I ended up using some white fur and added the sunburst colouring around the eye area. The antlers are plastic antlers painted by me to have a copper to gold tone. Finally I added a little symbol to the face which I think brought the piece together.
Solis has a resin face and paws that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. Her body is made from thick faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, she has a plastic ball and socket armature inside making her fully poseable, her face was furred by hand and painted in acrylic paints.
Solis is approximately 30 x 35cm head to tail.
Solis is sold but I have a few critters looking for homes in my shop. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
